Become an Emotional Intelligence Expert
Professional Certificate Program (Level I, II and III)
Professionals in educational, clinical and organizational consultation fields can receive EI certification through TISEI. The program offers a blend of empirically-grounded knowledge of emotional intelligence models with experiential learning activities geared toward self-awareness and personal emotional development. Three levels of training are available, including the foundations of emotional intelligence models and abilities (Level I); assessment and intervention strategies (Level II) and specific applications tailored to your domain of expertise (Level III).
Level I. Introduction Certificate: Emotional Intelligence Foundations (duration: 8 hours)
Level I provides a conceptual and experiential introduction to Emotional Intelligence. Participants examine the historical development of EI, its major theoretical models (abilities, traits, and competencies), and current challenges in conceptualization and measurement. Through experiential learning activities, participants develop core EI abilities, including emotional perception, emotional facilitation of thinking, emotional understanding, and emotion regulation, establishing a foundation for personal growth and professional application.
Level II. Advanced Certificate: Emotional Intelligence Interventions (duration: 15 hours)
Level II focuses on the assessment, intervention, and implementation of EI in professional settings. Participants engage in advanced experiential labs to deepen emotional awareness and self-regulation, learn principles of EI assessment for individuals and environments, and explore evidence-based EI strategies applicable to educational, clinical, organizational, and consulting contexts. The program culminates in the design of a discipline-specific EI intervention plan, supported by supervision and applied project work.
Level III. EI Specialist Certificate (one-year online sessions)
Level III is an intensive, mentorship-based program designed to prepare professionals to integrate EI deeply into their discipline and to contribute to the advancement of the field. The program includes in-depth study of EI theory, assessment and evaluation, teaching and training strategies, research or program evaluation, and personal EI development. Participants complete individualized projects within their professional context and, upon completion, are qualified to deliver Level I training for TISEI. A core expectation of Level III is a substantive contribution to the EI field through research, program design, evaluation, or applied innovation.
