From October 7 to 10, 2024, Universidad Iberoamericana Mexico City hosted the IX International Congress on Emotional Intelligence (ICEI 2024), an event that brought together leading researchers and experts in the field of emotional intelligence from around the world. During the congress, key topics such as emotional leadership, well-being from the perspective of contemplative neuroscience, and cross-cultural perspectives on emotions were explored.
A notable highlight of the event was the presentation of the Paul Schmitz Award during the poster session. The award was given to the poster titled “For being awarded the Paul Schmitz Award during the poster presentation at the IX International Congress on Emotional Intelligence 2024, held at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City,” recognizing its exceptional quality and contribution to the field.
With the participation of prominent figures such as Marc Brackett, founder of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, and Vladimir Taksic, president of the International Society for Emotional Intelligence, the event provided a platform for sharing theoretical and empirical research, as well as new applications of emotional intelligence in professional, educational, and health-related settings.
This international gathering reaffirmed the importance of emotional intelligence in a constantly changing world, promoting a holistic approach that combines emotions, critical thinking, and leadership with empathy and justice—core values in the Jesuit education offered by Ibero.
